Last updated: March 10, 2026
1. Introduction
Zikes ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our website compliance monitoring service ("Service"). By using the Service, you consent to the practices described in this policy.
2. Information We Collect
We collect the following types of information:
Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and authentication credentials through our OAuth provider.
Website Data: When you submit a URL for scanning, we access and analyze the publicly available content of that webpage to identify accessibility issues. We store scan results, compliance scores, and issue details.
Payment Information: Payment processing is handled by Stripe. We do not store your full credit card number, CVV, or card expiration date. We retain only Stripe customer IDs and subscription identifiers necessary to manage your account.
Usage Data: We automatically collect information about how you interact with the Service, including pages visited, features used, scan frequency, and device/browser information.
Traffic Estimates: We use third-party services (such as SimilarWeb) to estimate the monthly traffic of websites you submit for scanning. This data is used solely to calculate risk assessments and is not shared with third parties.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to: (a) provide, maintain, and improve the Service; (b) process transactions and manage subscriptions; (c) send you scan results, compliance alerts, and service notifications; (d) generate risk assessments and compliance reports; (e) detect and prevent fraud or abuse; and (f) comply with legal obligations.
4. Information Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information with: (a) service providers who assist us in operating the Service (e.g., Stripe for payment processing, hosting providers); (b) law enforcement or government agencies when required by law; and (c) other parties with your explicit consent. All service providers are contractually obligated to protect your information.
5. Data Retention
We retain your account information and scan data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. Scan results are retained to enable historical comparison and trend analysis. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal information within 30 days, except where retention is required by law or for legitimate business purposes.
6. Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit (TLS/SSL), secure authentication, and access controls. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Cookies and Tracking
We use essential cookies to maintain your session and authentication state. We may also use analytics cookies to understand how the Service is used. You can control cookie preferences through your browser settings, though disabling essential cookies may affect Service functionality.
8. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to: (a) access the personal information we hold about you; (b) request correction of inaccurate information; (c) request deletion of your information; (d) object to or restrict processing of your information; (e) data portability; and (f) withdraw consent. 9. California Privacy Rights (CCPA)
If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to know what personal information we collect, the right to delete your personal information, and the right to opt out of the sale of your personal information. We do not sell personal information.
